Natural-Looking Inlays and Onlays
Replace silver fillings with tooth-colored restorations
Onlays and inlays are a type of dental restoration used to repair damaged teeth or fill cavities and gaps. They can also be used to replace old silver amalgam fillings.
- Inlays go inside the tooth, and are often use to strengthen and beautify large cavities.
- Onlays go over the tooth to cover a chipped or broken tooth or fill gaps between teeth.
One-visit porcelain inlays and inlays with breakthrough CEREC 3D technology
Dr. Raisch custom-makes onlays and inlays in our on-site laboratory using the advanced CEREC 3D system. For most onlays and inlays, it can be done in a single visit. No temporary fillings and no waiting.
CEREC is an acronym for CEramic REConstruction. We take a 3-dimensional photo of your tooth and custom-craft, using computer-assisted design, a perfectly milled restoration. Minutes later we bond your final restorations in place.
Safe, beautiful and curable
In the past, tooth-colored filling material simply wasn’t strong enough to withstand regular use in back teeth, so cosmetic dentistry was limited to front teeth restorations. With the CEREC system there is no problem with creating onlays for both front and back teeth, because the porcelain material that is used closely matches the physical strength and appearance of natural teeth and expands and contracts with your teeth.
Now your unsightly metal-based fillings can be replaced with tooth-colored inlays to beautify and brighten your teeth, and with natural looking onlays to fill gaps, cover damaged teeth and restore your smile.
